True and False Thoughts

The cartoon portrayal of an ‘angel on one shoulder’ and ‘a devil on the other’ is more accurate than people might think and was probably removed for that reason - along with any biblical references in televised media - because it holds an essence of divine truth.

A child is born fearless (dependent) and loving - oblivious to negativity… it’s until their first spanking or having their toy taken - or even once they’ve tried a food they like more than another!

Preferences develop, but so does angst, fear, anger and desire, guilt and temptation, and so on…

On one shoulder you have the ‘angel’ (your love and conscience) and the other the ‘devil’ (negativity and temptation.)

Every negative thought (racism, insecurity, low self-esteem, jealousy, hatred, etc.) has been planted in you by this world - you were not born with it - and it is the ‘devil’ on your shoulder that tempts you to ‘keep indulging, lust, envy, hate, etc.’

The ‘devil’ on everyone’s shoulder, is a motif throughout life and is a key component in the transformation that is meant to occur while we are here… to choose to resist temptation.

The ‘angel’ on the other shoulder is there reminding you of what is right, keeping your moral compass intact and instilling guilts and conviction to aide us so that we will become increasingly worthy of the kingdom and God’s sacrifice for us (Jesus Christ!)
